I read in one thread that the OSRAM DS3 66340 is the OEM bulb ( $98.99/set of two on Amazon) s=gateway&sr=8-1Ĭan anyone please verify that these are indeed direct OEM replacements, of if they aren’t then which ones are?Ĭan anyone please suggest a reliable source for the bulbs, and what I should expect to pay for a good deal (but not too good to be true, as I’ve heard about lots of problems with counterfeit bulbs. If I can get a pair of bulbs from a reputable source, without getting gouged by the dealer, I’d like to just throw in a new pair and save the old bulbs as emergency spares. You can usually spot a car with HID lights in a long row of halogen or LED headlights because they look more blue. My truck has about 60k miles, and both headlights are still functioning properly, but I think I’ve noticed a slight decrease in brightness (has anyone else experienced this? How many miles?). The work by igniting a gas with electricity often Xenon, which is why HID lights are sometimes called Xenon headlights. If a bulb fails, it is wise to replace both since the new bulb will not have color shifted and will look different than the older bulb.
You can find Osram 66340HBI bulbs online for about 50 a pair used or 80 a pair new, which is the exact bulb that comes with these headlights from the factory. It is very unlikely that the linked aftermarket headlights can be plug and play for both halogen and HID Kuga/Escape, but they never specify which OEM lighting system this is intended to replace. The HID bulbs are not expensive at all to replace. I don’t want a different color temperature or any other type of ‘enhancement’, I just want the same bulbs that came with my truck at a decent price. The UK Kuga, like the US Escape, offers both halogen and HID lighting depending on the model (google Ford UK). She has the head lamps with LEd brows and projectors with halogen bulbs. Its my understanding that the outermost bulb is low beam & inner are the. Hey all, my wife just purchased a 2018 escape SEL this evening. Unless Im totally wrong on which are low beam and which are high beam. So back to NAPA this morning, he asked if I was sure it was low beam and it most definitely is.
Owners manual only seems to have the reflector halogens and HID housings. The bulb that came out of fixture was a 9005 high beam bulb. Too snowy to try and pull the low beam lamp. I have factory HID projectors in my ‘13 FX4 and need some help finding EXACT REPLACEMENT OEM HID bulbs. On my 'regular' SE with the halogen reflector headlights, the high beams are 9005.
